Recently, Herbalife International has taken a decision to offer clarification to dealers, clients, staff, investors and the general public. When are you the dealer? What does that mean? New terminology has also been established to fit into the Herbalife Marketing Strategy, the Herbalife Gold Standard Guarantees and the future of the business. Essentially, all Herbalife distributors are members of Herbalife, but not all Herbalife members are distributors.
Why it is important to Have Herbalife Membership?
In the past, the distinction was made only between consumers of Herbalife and distributors of Herbalife. The truth, however, is that many of Herbalife’s distributors have only become distributors because they wanted to get their own products at a discount. As there was no duty on the distributor to sell any goods or to do any business, these distributors were free to order products as and when they wished for personal use at the discount they had selected.
Herbalife acknowledges that these users of Herbalife make up a significant part of their business. In essence, they are not dealers, they are only wholesale customers. And here in Herbalife, we love our wholesale customers. They are loyal to the brand, use our goods on a daily basis and spread the word of good nutrition on a casual basis. As of 1 May 2016, these wholesale customers in the United States and India have the option to register directly with Herbalife as a discounted customer; they are called preferred members.
Difference between Herbalife Members and Preferred Members
So, any person entering into a written agreement with Herbalife (formerly known as the Distributor Agreement) will now be known as a Herbalife Member. This written agreement is also known as the Herbalife Member Application and Agreement. In addition, this holds true for people who join Herbalife in all other Herbalife countries excluding the United States and India. So, in the United States and India, the new individual must determine whether to enter as a wholesale client, i.e., as a chosen member or as a distributor. In India, distributors are referred to as “partners.”
Every member of Herbalife from countries (and distributors/associates for the United States and India) will have exactly the same rights as the previously established ‘Herbalife Distributor,’ So, you canto purchase products at discount from Herbalife, to sell products to customers of Herbalife for profit, to recruit/sponsor new members of Herbalife.

Not all preferred representatives from the United States and India have the privileges set out above! Yes, they can buy directly from Herbalife at a discount and also qualify for higher discounts and other preferred member benefits. In addition, all new distributors and preferred members (customers) get a lifetime, 25% discount on their orders. That being said, Herbalife preferred members cannot sell our products and earn income. The great news is customers can convert to a distributor at anytime. It is a one-time investment of $34.95 USD to join as a customer. Furthermore, you can convert to a distributor for a one-time investment of $59.95 USD. So, customers are not permitted to do business until they become a US distributor and an Indian associate.
Distributors may wish to change their status to become preferred members, but this is not recommended. There is no particular gain for you individually to turn from a distributor to a chosen member. As a matter of fact, if you have already supported other people to become members of Herbalife in some shape or form, you will lose them forever if you downgrade your rank to become a preferred member. So, if you’re already a Herbalife dealer, keep that status, even if you’re just a discounted product consumer. There are no real benefits for you to move to your chosen member status.

For established distributors, no matter where you are in the world of Herbalife, if you do business in the US or India, having distributors and preferred members in those countries would directly impact you! Pay careful attention to following points.
Herbalife distributors who make it to the rank of supervisor receive a 50 percent discount on their products. The results is you receive royalty commissions and you need those personal volume goals per month.

So that volume doesn’t apply for certain royalty commissions or any other qualifications. Their volume is called “undocumented volume.” You need 2500 personal volumes to earn the full 5 per cent royalties.

Of course, I nor Herbalife, can guarantee you will make any money as a distributor. That being said, if you are motivated you certainly can. It takes patience, time and focus to become a successful Herbalife distributor.

On the other hand, all items purchased by Herbalife’s chosen members in India and the United States are referred to as “documented volume” and these volume points DO COUNT for you as a personal volume that you can use. So, in short, it is to the advantage of the upline members to have a healthy number of favorite members on their squad.
So, it is imperative that all distributors/partners in the USA and India develop their business on the basis of preferred members. Also focus on supporting new distributors who really want to do business. Are you someone that just wants to be a customer? If so, it’s better to join Herbalife as a preferred member. Again, all new preferred members and distributors receive a lifetime, 25 percent discount on their product orders.
The new Herbalife preferred member has the same discount purchasing rights. However, he or she does not resell the products, sponsor new people or do some kind of Herbalife business.
